Meals on Wheels (Sudbury) currently has over 250 registered volunteers, but we can never have enough. Some volunteers leave for the winter and others for the summer months. Some are helpers and need to be replaced due to illness and/or scheduled appointments. We are always looking for new volunteers. Now is your chance to join! Our volunteers deliver hot meals 5 times a week and deliver Home Meal Replacements every 2 weeks. In 2000, they logged over 19,000 hours - 14,000 of those in delivery only. To ensure that our volunteer drivers do not get the short end of the stick, we provide a gas subsidy to our volunteers twice a year to compensate traveling expenses.
