On Thursday June 10, 2004 Meals On Wheels (Sudbury) and 20 other health & social service agencies took part in a “Lunch & Learn” Information Session at the Manitoulin Sudbury Community Care Access Centre from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Information Session gave 120 front line staff the opportunity to share information and educate others about the programs & services available in the Manitoulin Sudbury District.
Each agency had the opportunity to set up a display booth and hand out information to the participants. It is hoped that participating agencies an identify common goals and share resources to achieve these goals.
The “Lunch & Learn” Information Session was initiated by The Executive Directors Network Group, a small group of service providers attempting to provide a mechanism to exchange information and develop clear, concise messaging when it comes to developing Care Plans for their clients. The group has evolved into an informal network that gathers 4 times per year to share information and discuss common issues and concerns. The Information Session was a first for the Executive Directors Network Group and based on the positive feedback we’ve received thus far, it has potential to become an annual event that is open to the public.
Meals On Wheels (Sudbury) would like to thank the Executive Directors Network Group for their hard work in planning this session, the Manitoulin Sudbury Community Care Access Centre for hosting the event, Home of Our Own Catering for providing lunches, and all that participated in the event. We hope to see you all again next year! |
